Our story

Our journey

From an open-source robotics project at the University of Bonn to a startup bringing precision weeding to real farms — the road from research to the field.

  1. 2017The open-source AgriBot platform

Our journey began with a clear mission: build a versatile robotic platform that could navigate and localise autonomously inside agricultural environments.

We designed the AgriBot to be lightweight and easy to transport, yet rugged enough to drive across crop rows while carrying meaningful payloads — herbicide nozzles, cameras, sensors.

Development followed a strict three-phase approach: build the hardware, perfect precise localisation, and finally implement fully autonomous navigation.

What started as a joystick-controlled prototype evolved into an intelligent system capable of following complex field paths from sensor-driven maps alone.

  2. 2019Breakthroughs in visual navigation

To handle the chaotic reality of working fields, we developed a new navigation framework purpose-built for row crops.

Using "visual servoing" techniques, this system processes on-board camera frames to "see" the structured plant rows the same way a human operator would.

The breakthrough let our robots steer themselves precisely without depending on expensive external positioning hardware or pre-existing field maps.

The result is a framework that delivers exact in-row tracking and smooth row-to-row transitions, significantly improving navigation efficiency in demanding agricultural environments.

  3. 2020Birth of BonnBot — and precision intervention

Over four years of intensive research, we evolved our platforms to close the gap between data capture and physical action.

As part of the PhenoRob Cluster of Excellence we built "BonnBot", a system designed to intervene in the field with minimal invasiveness.

By detecting and identifying individual plants, the robot produces a detailed weed map and treats specific targets with the most appropriate method, drastically reducing herbicide use.

The project also introduced "digital avatars" — virtual models that predict each plant's nutrient demand and likely losses.

That lets our aerial and ground robots apply nitrogen fertiliser with unprecedented precision — making sure plants get exactly what they need, exactly when they need it.

  4. 2023The launch of DynamoBot

Late in 2023, inspired by BonnBot's success and our work inside PhenoRob, we founded DynamoBot to bring these academic innovations to market.

We assembled a comprehensive precision-agriculture tool that uses robotics, AI, and computer vision to manage weeds mechanically, chemically, and electrically — at the same time.

Unlike rigid single-purpose machines, our system is built for flexibility.

It mounts cleanly on standard tractors or autonomous robots and enables targeted, biodiversity-aware weed control for both organic and conventional farming operations.

  5. 2024–2025Validating the MVP — and partnering with farmers

2025 is the year of rigorous validation.

We're finalising and field-testing DynamoBot #1 with a selected group of early partner farmers who have committed via Letter of Intent.

These on-farm trials are decisive: they're how we sharpen the Minimum Viable Product and make sure it holds up to the rough realities of daily agriculture.

This collaborative phase lets us collect critical feedback and refine our "Robotics-as-a-Service" (RaaS) model ahead of broader rollout.

By working directly with early adopters, we demonstrate the tangible economic and environmental benefits of the technology — paving the way for a confident, full-scale launch in 2026.

  6. 2026Expansion and investment

Looking ahead, we're actively seeking investors to accelerate deployment and help reshape sustainable agriculture.

With your support, we will scale our "Robotics-as-a-Service" model and make high-tech weed management accessible and affordable for farmers everywhere.

Investors joining us now play a decisive role in steering the agricultural sector toward a more efficient and productive future.

We offer significant growth potential, backed by strong market demand, extensive field trials, and a scalable business model that puts profitability and environmental responsibility at the centre.
